This group is open to all Villages residents.

 

 

We meet twice a month in the Eisenhower Rec center.

On the​ first Saturday of the month, and the 4th Tuesday of the month.

In the General George C. Marshall Room (the card room).

This club is designed to help people;

  • First learn that there is a better way,

  •  Then what you can do,

  •  And just how easy it can be to live healthy without unnecessary medication.

We need Doctors and medicine. Everyone knows someone whose life has been improved, and even saved by a doctor and medicine.


But doctors are taught to treat the symptoms, not the problems. Just treating the
symptoms is only a temporary fix. If you don’t fix the problem, the symptoms will keep returning, and may even get worse.


Doctors get very little training, if any, on nutrition. The truth is many diseases start in our
digestive tract.  What we eat has a huge effect on our health.


Doctors are taught to replace
defective or damaged parts and to prescribe medication to relieve symptoms.  Medication can relieve many symptoms, but many medications are toxic to our body causing side effects that require other medications to relieve….creating a toxic circle of symptoms and medications.


If the
underlying medical problem is never corrected, the symptoms keep recurring, requiring more medication. 


This is great for the pharmaceutical companies, but not so great for us.


We have been conditioned to believe the best thing to do is take a pill. It is easier but it is not always the right choice. We have been
misled into thinking that medications are the only ‘cure’.  We can be healthy with out relying solely on medication. There are many great books out there on the subject; a few are shown below.


Fortunately more and more doctors are starting to see that medication is not always the best choice. But they get a lot of pressure from pharmaceutical companies to
prescribe the new and improved drugs.


The food industry has been motivated by profit as well
.  Increasingly, they manufacture and market food products that are not as healthy as they once were. As a result we have become an overweight, unhealthy society.


But there is something we can do about it. We can educate ourselves.
